There's more than just winter chill in the air—here's what's coming up this June in Canberra:
GWS GIANTS v Port Adelaide Power (June 7): The Giants are back in Canberra to take on Port Adelaide at Manuka Oval. Details here.
Kate Ceberano (June 8): Kate Ceberano will be performing iconic Australian songs that have shaped her 40 years on the road. Details here.
National Wine Festival (June 12-15): Taste hundreds of wines, take part in workshops and masterclasses and enjoy all things wine. Details here.
Southside Lifeline Bookfair (June 13–15): The Lifeline Bookfair is heading down south to the Tuggeranong Southern Cross Basketball Stadium in Greenway. Details here.
Handmade Market (June 14–15): Over 260 Australian designers and producers will be showcasing their wares at the Handmade Market at EPIC. Details here.
Winter German Markets (June 19): You'll find homemade cakes, deli goods, German groceries, beer, schnapps, and the much-loved German sausage stall at the Winter German Markets at the Harmonie Club. Details here.
The Queen's Nanny (June 19–21): There are just a few tickets left to Melanie Tait's blackly funny comedy-drama The Queen's Nanny. Inspired by historical events, a royal scandal ignites a blistering fire between the steely Queen Mother and her children's doting nanny. Details here.
CraftAlive (June 19–22): Over four big days, the CraftAlive show will showcase the best craft in Australia. Take part in classes with experts and see the latest craft supplies and equipment. Details here.
Carmen (June 20–25): The Australian Ballet will perform Johan Inger's award-winning production of Carmen, which thrusts Georges Bizet's 19th-century opera into the modern world with a breathtaking display of athleticism and passion. Details here.
Three Sixty Fashion Market (June 22): Find high-end second-hand designer and vintage clothing and accessories at the Three Sixty Fashion Market at the Fitters Workshop in Kingston. Details here.
Rapt in Felt 2025 (June 28–29): Canberra Region Feltmakers is hosting Rapt in Felt 2025. There'll be a Street Felt Fashion Parade showcasing handmade felted garments, accessories, and jewellery, a felt shop selling hand-felted treasures, and mini-workshops for anyone curious about felting. Tricks and Train Paws Party (June 29): Haig Park is going full circus, and dogs are taking centre stage. Think colourful decorations, fun vibes, and a day packed with tricks, treats, and tail wags. A professional dog trainer will be on hand to teach fun tricks, and there'll be treats, live music, and a stage to snap a photo with your four-legged star. Details here.

Reconciliation Day Transport: Public transport will be free across the entire network on Reconciliation Day. Free shuttle buses will also run from the City Interchange to Commonwealth Park. Details here.

Crowne Plaza Demolition: The Crowne Plaza Hotel in the city is set to be demolished and replaced with two new hotels. IHG Group plans to build an InterContinental hotel and a Hotel Indigo boutique hotel. No word yet on when work will begin.
