Lanyon Homestead is celebrating Family History Month with a day of historical workshops, crafts and tours. Try candle-making or heritage knitting, learn how to preserve heirlooms, and end the day with a bush dance. Details here.
🏀 NBL Blitz:
5 nights of electric double-headers at AIS Arena as all 10 NBL teams compete for the Loggins–Bruton Cup. Details here.
🐶 Paws Party
Head to Haig Park this Sunday with your pup for a Book Week-themed Paws Party. Dress your dog for the Best Dressed competition, plus there will be free treats and a photographer taking pics. Details here.
🏉 Raiders v Tigers:
It’s the final home game of the Raiders’ regular season! See the NRL and NRLW teams take on the Tigers in the Saturday afternoon double-header. I’m anticipating a sell-out crowd! Details here.
🍴 Bungendore Bites
Bungendore is hosting its first full-day food and entertainment festival this Saturday. Expect a giant marquee with long-table dining surrounded by food trucks—from artisan gelato and wood-fired pizza to Bhutanese dumplings and Dutch pancakes. Details here.
🟡 National Wattle Day at the Arboretum
Celebrate National Wattle Day at the Arboretum with a variety of activities for everyone. Drop by Wattle Corner and get hands-on with displays of wattle, join in a Wattle Day walk, and make sure you stop by The Curatoreum to pick up a packet of wattle seed collected from the Arboretum’s Golden Grove. 🚒 Acton Emergency Services Station Open Day
ACT Emergency Services Agency is inviting the community to explore the newly opened Acton Emergency Services Station. Join firefighters and paramedics on a guided tour, grab a sausage sandwich and coffee, and enjoy the jumping castle and activities on offer. Kids can also snap a photo with Fire & Rescue mascot “Sparky the Dalmatian” and Ambulance Service mascot “Kirby the Kangaroo.” It’s free! Details here.
🎶 Capital Brewing Record Fair
Celebrate the last day of winter with a dig through thousands of vinyl records at the Capital Brewing Co x My Vinyl Revolution Record Fair. Crate-diggers can browse in the laid-back surrounds of the Fyshwick brewery. Details here.

The Canberra Calligraphy Society’s annual exhibition and sale, Words of Wisdom, is on at the Old Barn Gallery in Pialligo. “Calligraphy is more than just beautiful handwriting...it’s the creation of wonderful shapes and interpretations, forming beautiful symbols by hand and bestowing words with harmony, beauty and integrity.” Details here.

Markets This Weekend in Canberra
Euro Deli: The pop-up Euro Deli is back at the Polish Club in Turner with the best range of Polish and Eastern European small goods in the region, including pączki (doughnuts), sernik (Polish-style cheesecake), confectionery, preserves, sinus-clearing horseradish and more. Details here.
Good Goodies Flea Market: A community style flea market at Gang Gang where local creatives have the chance to have a stall at NO cost to share their goodies!!! Think stalls ranging from arty art, preloved & vintage clothes, pottery, magic, cake treats & much much more. Details here.
Capital Region Farmers Market: Canberra's largest farmers market, with over 100 stalls offering fresh produce, including fruit and veg, baked goods, meat, seafood and more. It runs every Saturday morning at EPIC from 7am to 11:30am. Details here.
Haig Park Village Markets: The markets are held in Haig Park every Sunday from 8am to 2pm. You'll find a mix of fresh produce, baked goods, handmade products and food and drink stalls. Details here.
Old Bus Depot Markets: Visit the landmark Sunday market inside the Old Bus Depot building on the Kingston Foreshore for food and drink, plants, handmade items and more. Details here.
Southside Farmers Market: The Southside Farmers Market is held every Sunday morning at Canberra College in Phillip. Details here.
Jamison Trash and Treasure: Runs every Sunday in Belconnen. As well as pre-loved and vintage items, you'll find fresh fruit and vegetables, eggs, honey, and plants. Details here.
