🚣 The Golden Oar

Black Mountain Peninsula will come alive with the Golden Oar regatta festival. Set on the waters of Lake Burley Griffin, The Golden Oar brings together elite international and Australian rowers, including Olympic gold medallists, to battle it out for glory and cash prizes. The festival is equal parts elite sport and lakeside party, with food vans, bars, live music, kids’ activities, and a cardboard boat regatta. Details here.

🎨 Craft + Design Canberra Open Studios Day

Happening over two weekends, studios and community organisations around Canberra are throwing open their doors. Discover incredible local art and crafts, find unique gifts, and take part in workshops and hands-on demonstrations. Details here.

🏛️ Government House Open Day

It’s your one chance this year to see inside Government House—the official residence of the Governor-General—as it opens its doors to the public this weekend. Explore the historic house and gardens and meet the Governor-General. There’ll also be a scavenger hunt and numerous stalls on the grounds. Entry is free. Details here.

🧱 Canberra Brick Show

Hundreds of LEGO displays, exhibits and vendors—the ultimate event for LEGO fans. Happening this weekend at Thoroughbred Park. Details here.

🧪 SciFright at Questacon

This Halloween, Questacon opens after dark for an adults-only SciFright—featuring creepy science, the Liquid Fright-rogen show, parasites and plagues, cane toad dissections in Q Lab, a Halloween dance floor and themed cocktails from Atomic Café. Dress to impress (or terrify). Details here.

🏳️‍🌈 SpringOUT Fair Day

Canberra’s largest LGBTIQA+ community event. Held in Glebe Park, there’ll be performances, market stalls, and food and drink. Details here.

💎 Spring Gemcraft & Mineral Show

Market stalls selling jewellery, rough and cut gemstones, opals, fossils, rocks and mineral specimens. There’ll also be displays of members’ collections and demonstrations of cabbing, faceting, and jewellery making. Details here.

🏀 Vikings Sunday Funday

Are your kids looking to try a new sport? This Sunday, the Vikings are hosting their annual fun day—kids can try over 20 different sports put on by local clubs. It’s a jam-packed day of sport, food, and family fun. Details here.

🏃 Canberra Times Fun Run

Take on a fast, flat course past iconic landmarks in your choice of four distances: the AIMS-certified Runner’s World Half Marathon and 10K, or the 5K and 2K events. After your run, unwind in the lively event village with entertainment and a kids zone. Details here.

🧺 Hall Markets

The Hartley Hall Markets are back this Sunday at the Hall Showground. At one of Canberra’s largest markets, you’ll find fresh produce, baked goods, crafts, furniture and more. Entry is by a gold coin donation, with all proceeds supporting the incredible work of Hartley Lifecare. Details here.

💀 Day of the Dead at Smith’s

Smith’s Alternative is celebrating Día de los Muertos with a week of colour, music, film, poetry and tradition. There are events all week, including an all-day festival this Saturday with sugar skull painting workshops and a night party featuring some of Canberra’s energetic Latin American bands. 🤠 Casey Jones Country Fair

An all-day country charm community event in Casey. There’ll be live country bands and local musicians, market stalls, lawn games, raffles and prizes. Details here.

👗 Little Burley Fashion Fest

There’ll be a broad range of stalls with fashion, accessories and more for purchase, including children’s fashion, puppy couture, incredible accessories and designer wear—plus delicious locally produced gourmet foods and beverages. Happening this Saturday from 9 am–2 pm at Queen Elizabeth Terrace.

👠 Canberra Fashion Market

The Canberra Fashion Market is packed with stallholders selling new and quality pre-loved fashion, including clothing, shoes, boots, bags, jewellery, accessories and much more. At the Fitters Workshop, Kingston, this Sunday, 2 November from 10 am–3 pm.

🌵 Cactus Expo 25

The Cactus and Succulent Society ACT is hosting Cactus Expo this Sunday at the Gungahlin Lakes Club. You’ll find interstate and local growers with plants for sale, beautiful displays and advice. Details here.

🎸 Queanbeyan Music Muster

🌿 Kambah Community Garden Open Day and Seedling Sale

More Markets This Weekend in Canberra

Capital Region Farmers Market: Canberra's largest farmers market, with over 100 stalls offering fresh produce, including fruit and veg, baked goods, meat, seafood and more. It runs every Saturday morning at EPIC from 7am to 11:30am. Details here.

Haig Park Village Markets: The markets are held in Haig Park every Sunday from 8am to 2pm. You'll find a mix of fresh produce, baked goods, handmade products and food and drink stalls. Details here.
