Here's what's happening this Weekend in Canberra. This page is updated weekly with a curated collection of the best things to do in Canberra this weekend including markets and live music. New weekend events get added throughout the week.
🎡 The Royal Canberra Show
The region’s biggest annual agricultural event is just around the corner, with the Royal Canberra Show returning from Friday 21 to Sunday 23 February at Exhibition Park.
Expect all the classics—showbags, Sideshow Alley, woodchopping, farm animals, piglet racing and fireworks—plus a few new additions. Showjumping is back after a break, with a feature event from three-time national junior champion Tom McDermott. The Kids Giggle and Games Arena is making its debut, with free activities and games. 🎭 Shakespeare by the Lakes: Tuggeranong
See Shakespeare for free at Lakespeare production of Macbeth happening at the Tuggeranong Town Park this Friday evening. Gather your friends, pack a picnic, and strap in for a night of greed, ambition, and deception. Whether you’re a Shakespeare aficionado or new to the Bard, don’t miss this chance to experience Shakespeare’s shortest, sharpest, and bloodiest play like never before, as nature and theatre collide.Details here.
🪴 Australian Plants as Bonsai Exhibition
The Canberra Bonsai Society’s annual Australian Plants as Bonsai show is back at the Botanic Gardens this weekend. There will be over 40 bonsai of Australian native plants on display as well as demonstrations on using these plants for bonsai. Details here.
🐔 Chicken Wing Festival
Reload is hosting a Chicken Wing Festival this Saturday, featuring an all-you-can-eat wing challenge, chicken trivia, a fastest hot wing contest, and even a chicken dance competition. Your ticket includes a pint of beer, a side of fries, and unlimited chicken wings for 60 minutes. Details here.
Sport: 🏉 Brumbies v Western Force
The Brumbies' first home game of the 2025 season is this Saturday, with kick-off at 7:35 pm. They'll be looking to build on their strong start after a narrow win over Fijian Drua last weekend. Details here.
🐕 Valentine’s Paws Party
Calling all pups in need of some Valentine's vibes! Join the Sniff Right Paws Party, the perfect event for dogs and humans to spread the love this Valentine's. 🧘 Northside Community Open Day
Northside Community Service is holding a community open day this Sunday. There will be a bike maintenance workshop, a bbq and live music. Details here.
🍀 Celtic Concert
Mercure Canberra is hosting a Celtic Courtyard Concert this Saturday. Enjoy a night of live music and dancing, including both traditional and contemporary Irish and Scottish music from one of Canberra’s best-know Celtic bands – Humbug Celtic Band. Details here.
After Service at Onzieme
The After Service pop-up will be taking over Onzieme this Sunday. Enjoy cocktails, snacks and good vibes. Details here.
🎨 Street mural Workshop
Street artist legend Eddie Mowat has his artwork on walls from Canberra to the Netherlands and will be working with local artists to bring a 34-metre mural to life in Belconnen. People aged 18 to 30 who live in the Belco area are invited to co-design the mural during 4 workshops starting Saturday 22 February. Details here.

Bring your broken and not-working items for repair and save them from becoming landfill to the first Community Toolbox repair cafe of the year. Details here.
🏃♀️ Canberra Memory Walk
Walk, jog or run around Lake Burley Griffin this weekend to raise money in the fight against dementia. In the ACT alone there are over 5,900 people living with dementia. Your fundraising efforts enable Dementia Australia to enhance lives and create a hopeful future for those impacted by dementia. Details here.
🎾 Come and Try Beach Tennis
This weekend, Tennis ACT is hosting a free come-and-try beach tennis day at the Beach Volleyball Courts in Lyneham. Just bring sunscreen and a water bottle. Details here.
Markets This Weekend in Canberra
Good Goodies Flea Market: A community style flea market at Gang Gang where local creatives have the chance to have a stall at NO cost to share their goodies!!! Think stalls ranging from arty art, preloved & vintage clothes, pottery, magic, cake treats & much much more. Details here.
Haig Park Village Markets: The markets are held in Haig Park every Sunday from 8am to 2pm. You'll find a mix of fresh produce, baked goods, handmade products and food and drink stalls. Details here.
The Old Bus Depot Markets: The OBDM run every Sunday on the Kingston Foreshore. Details here.
Capital Region Farmers Market: Canberra's largest farmers market, with over 100 stalls offering fresh produce, including fruit and veg, baked goods, meat, seafood and more. It runs every Saturday morning at EPIC from 7am to 11:30am. Details here.
Southside Farmers Market: The Southside Farmers Market is held every Sunday morning at Canberra College in Phillip. Details here.
Jamison Trash and Treasure: Runs every Sunday in Belconnen. As well as pre-loved and vintage items, you'll find fresh fruit and vegetables, eggs, honey, and plants. Details here.
