🛍️ Handmade Market

You'll find over 260 Australian designers and producers—and 30 new stalls—at the Handmade Market, running all weekend at EPIC. Browse fashion, ceramics, handcrafted furniture, children's toys and clothing, original artworks, jewellery, and more. Details here.


🧱 Playwell Brick Market

There's a LEGO brick market happening in Pearce on Sunday. Find new, rare, and retired LEGO sets, purchase parts by weight, and explore a vast selection of unique minifigures. Details here.


🇮🇹 Viva Italia

The two-week festival celebrating Italian culture starts this Friday evening with an opening night under the stars featuring Italian street food, music and dance. Details here.


🎶 The Braddon Busking Festival

Lonsdale, Mort, Elouera, and Girrawheen Streets in Braddon will be filled with music this Sunday during the Braddon Busking Festival and Artist Gathering. Buskers will compete for cash and other prizes and will be eligible for the Australian National Busking Championships. For the first time, visual artists will be displaying their work alongside the buskers. Details here.


👗 Vintage Kilo Sale:

Instead of individually priced items, the Vintage Kilo Sale sells second-hand clothing for $50 per kilo. The event is ticketed before 1pm and free afterwards. It's happening on Saturday, March 29, with a special VIP drop on Friday, March 28. Details here.


🐶 RSPCA Shelter Open Day

The RSPCA is holding a Shelter Open Day this Saturday, featuring puppy meet-and-greets, cat toy making, soft toy microchipping for kids, and behind-the-scenes shelter tours. Details here.


🏋 Move It Canberra Day

Canberra Olympic Pool, Stromlo Leisure Centre, and Lakeside Leisure Centre have teamed up to challenge Canberrans to collectively achieve 15,000 minutes of activity. This Saturday, they are running a range of free group fitness sessions suited to everyone from kids to adults, or you can simply drop in during the allocated time to use the gyms and pools for free. It's a great opportunity to try these centres out at no cost. Details here.


🎾 Girls Get Active Day

Girls Get Active Day is a free community event celebrating women and girls in sport. Come along to try a new sport and meet like-minded people. There will be over ten different local sports represented, as well as Pop Tennis and Cardio Tennis sessions. Tennis ACT is giving away 200 racquets to the first 200 kids through the gate. ⛲️ Open Gardens

Open Gardens Canberra is back with their autumn season. This weekend, two inspiring gardens will be open to explore—and both are free to enter. In Whitlam, you’ll find a climate-wise garden featuring native plants that thrive in local conditions. In Cook, the community garden run by the Canberra Organic Growers Society will be open, with 56 allotment-style plots to explore. There’ll be talks on beekeeping, starting a garden, no-dig gardening, guided tours with gardeners, a sausage sizzle, and more. Details here.


🥾 Aussie Peace Walk

The Aussie Peace Walk is a two-day international walking festival around Canberra. A variety of walks take place over the weekend, with the most popular being a 21-kilometre walk on Saturday and a 24-kilometre walk on Sunday. Shorter distance options are available for all ages and fitness levels. Details here.


🚂 Train Rides at Dusk

On Saturday 29th March the Canberra Miniature Railway is hosting train rides at dusk and in the dark. Rides begin at 5:30pm so that the littlies can enjoy them before they're off to bed but the real fun begins at dusk and in the dark when the incredible light show comes alive! Many of our trains have light shows themselves but the greatest attractions are the animated lights around the tracks. Details here.


🤼 Slam Pro Wrestling League

Live pro wrestling returns to Canberra this Saturday. The Slam Pro League will be showcasing their athleticism at the UC Refectory. Details here.


🐾 Paws Party

The Paws Party returns to Haig Park on Sunday for a "dogtor"-themed event for pups. There will be a photo booth, live music, doggy treats, and the chance to chat with a vet for free. Details here.


🚂 Canberra Model Train Expo

The Canberra Model Railway Club is holding its annual expo at UC High School in Kaleen next weekend. See layouts and displays at one of the largest model railway expos outside metro areas. Details here.


Sport: 🏉 Brumbies Double Header

The Brumbies Women will be taking the NSW Warratahs and the Brumbies Men will take on the Highlanders in a double header at GIO Stadium this Friday evening. Details here.


Watson Day

The Watson Community Association, with the generous support of the Watson Supabarn and Majura Scouts, is holding a community event on the grassy area near the shops on Neighbour Day. There will be a sausage sizzle, stands for local community, volunteer and social groups, stalls for local artists, craft activities and games for kids, and music. We're even expecting the SES to come along, with their mascot Paddy the Platypus. The event is free, but we will be collecting donations to support the costs of printing the quarterly Watzon newsletter. Come on down and meet your fellow Watsonians! Details here.


Markets This Weekend in Canberra

Good Goodies Flea Market: A community style flea market at Gang Gang where local creatives have the chance to have a stall at NO cost to share their goodies!!! Think stalls ranging from arty art, preloved & vintage clothes, pottery, magic, cake treats & much much more. Details here.

Capital Region Farmers Market: Canberra's largest farmers market, with over 100 stalls offering fresh produce, including fruit and veg, baked goods, meat, seafood and more. It runs every Saturday morning at EPIC from 7am to 11:30am. Details here.

Little Burley Markets: Located on the edge of Lake Burley Griffin, The Little Burley Markets run every Saturday morning. They make a great stop on a walk around the lake. Details here.

Haig Park Village Markets: The markets are held in Haig Park every Sunday from 8am to 2pm. You'll find a mix of fresh produce, baked goods, handmade products and food and drink stalls. Details here.

The Old Bus Depot Markets: The OBDM run every Sunday on the Kingston Foreshore. Details here.

Southside Farmers Market: The Southside Farmers Market is held every Sunday morning at Canberra College in Phillip. Details here.

Jamison Trash and Treasure: Runs every Sunday in Belconnen. As well as pre-loved and vintage items, you'll find fresh fruit and vegetables, eggs, honey, and plants. Details here.
