The Best Canberra Markets: 2024 Guide

13th December 2023

Over the last few years, there has been an explosion of new Canberra Markets. Alongside the regular favourites like the Old Bus Depot Markets and the Hall Markets, there are new markets popping up throughout the Capital.

The Best Markets in Canberra

Wandering through the local markets in Canberra is one of my favourite weekend activities. These are the best markets in Canberra:

Haig Park Village Markets

The Haig Park Village Markets are run every Sunday in Haig Park in Braddon. These markets have been getting more popular over the last year, and there’s usually a great selection of vendors selling fresh fruit and vegetables, baked goods, flowers and more. You’ll also find a selection of food and coffee options.

The Old Bus Depot Markets

The Old Bus Depot Markets have been running for 22 years and is one of the more popular markets in Canberra with over 200 stalls. The Old Bus Depot Markets run every Sunday in Kingston. There is plenty of free parking nearby, and the markets are indoors, so it doesn’t matter if it’s raining outside.

The Little Burley Markets are one of Canberra’s newer markets. They happen on the shores of Lake Burley Griffin every Saturday morning. While this market isn’t as big as some of the others, it makes a great stop while walking around the lake.
