Terra Has Closed: One of Canberra's finest restaurants, Terra, announced on social media last Friday that it would be closing. Their final service was on Saturday. Terra had been serving up wood-fired meats for over seven years. Details here.
The team also owns Recess Coffee in Griffith, which looks set to continue.
The Forage is Back: Street food festival The Forage will return as part of the Winter in the City program. It's happening July 19—I'll have more details closer to the event.
Champi Express: Champi in Kingston is opening a new venue, Champi Express, in Phillip. It will serve a breakfast and lunch menu showcasing traditional Laotian morning staples and an extensive drinks menu. It's opening today—the first 100 customers will get a free coffee. Details here.
Free Dinner at Akiba: Akiba has launched an interesting promotion—dine and pay for dinner before 6pm, roll a die, and if you roll a 6, you'll get your money back. The offer ends June 30. A perfect excuse for an early dinner! Details here.
BentSpoke Is Turning 11: BentSpoke is turning 11, and they're throwing a party. On Friday, June 6, head to the Braddon brewpub for $11 pints, a limited-release birthday brew—Descent 25, free Draughters sign-ups, live music, and of course, cake. Details here.
Canberra’s Best Wineries: Nine Canberra wineries have been named in this year’s Real Review list, which recognises the top 15% of wineries in Australia. Clonakilla, Helm, Collector, Lerida Estate, Eden Road, Nick O'Leary, Mount Majura, Sapling Yard, and Four Winds Vineyard all made the cut.
Welcome in the cold weather with Winterfest! Enjoy a cozy Sunday afternoon at the Polish White Eagle Club's Winterfest. There will be Polish, Ukrainian, and Baltic food, market stalls, and entertainment from Polish Dance Group Wielkopolska. It's happening Sunday, June 8, and entry is free. Details here.

Take a free tour at the Museum of Australian Democracy, exploring the wives of our PMs. While the spouses of our nation's leaders have no official title, they've had a lasting influence on Australian politics and on this building. Dance without limits or judgement. No Lights No Lycra hosts dance sessions in darkened halls around the world. The lights are low, so you can move freely without worrying about what you look like. There are two weekly No Lights No Lycra groups in Canberra—one in the North and one in the South. You don't need a membership to take part—just book in and show up.
