In a first-of-its-kind global tour, local boy Nick Kyrgios brings his chart-topping podcast Good Trouble with Nick Kyrgios live to the stage. Nick will welcome a surprise guest for a candid, unscripted exchange recorded live. Released in 2017, Mountain was a groundbreaking cinematic work created by BAFTA-nominated filmmaker Jennifer Peedom in collaboration with the Australian Chamber Orchestra. It pairs a live orchestral performance with breathtaking high-altitude footage, shot by the world’s leading high-altitude cinematographers and narrated by Robert Macfarlane (voiced by Willem Dafoe). The ACO will perform the award-winning Mountain at Llewellyn Hall as part of their 50th Anniversary celebrations in October. This will sell out soon! Details here.
Join Indigenous astronomer and proud Gamilaraay/Yuwaalaraay man Peter Swanton and astrophysicist Dr Brad Tucker at Parliament House to learn about Indigenous astronomy. The evening starts indoors, where you’ll explore Australia’s deep-rooted traditions of stargazing before heading out onto the lawns for some hands-on viewing through powerful telescopes. The Rail Motor Society is a heritage rail operator based out of Paterson in New South Wales. They’re running a heritage rail trip to Bundanoon on June 6. Take a ride on the heritage rail motor to the Bundanoon Hotel for a delicious two-course lunch. Morning tea will be served on the train while you sit back and enjoy the comfort and scenery. The Sydney Comedy Festival Showcase Tour is coming to Canberra next Saturday, featuring a line-up of festival favourites alongside fresh emerging talents. The showcase will feature two hours of some of the best comedy from the Sydney Comedy Festival. Details here.
