Details here.

Fireside Festival: The Canberra Wine Region’s Fireside Festival continues this week with Steak Night at Nick O’Leary’s, fire pits and truffles at Majura Park, and a day of wine, food, and fires at Lerida Estate, featuring six wineries under one roof. Details here.
International Blues Music Day: The Canberra Blues Society is celebrating International Blues Music Day this Saturday in Narrabundah with a stellar line-up of local and interstate blues musicians. Details here.
Hartley Hall Markets: The Hall Markets are back this Sunday. One of Canberra’s largest markets, you’ll find fresh produce, baked goods, plants, furniture, clothing, pottery and more. Entry is by gold coin donation, with proceeds supporting Hartley’s vital work for people with disability. Details here.
Stella Day Out: A free one-day literary festival that celebrates and promotes the outstanding contributions of women and non-binary writers to Australian literature. Details here.
Too Good to Go is an app designed to cut down on food waste—and it launched in Canberra earlier this year. The idea is simple: restaurants, bakeries, and cafes sell off their surplus food in “surprise bags” filled with leftover goods that would otherwise be thrown out. The bags usually cost around $10, with food worth about $30 inside.
While the number of local businesses using the app in Canberra isn’t huge, you’ll find a handful of cafes, bakeries (including Three Mills), and sushi shops already taking part.
Have you tried it in Canberra yet? I’d love to hear how it went. Details here.
Hottest Hot August Night: Performers Michael Zammit and Jenn Allas pay tribute to the music of Neil Diamond and Olivia Newton-John. Details here.
Duck Pond: Circa re-imagines the world’s most romantic ballet as a circus spectacular with their signature cheeky humour and contemporary energy. Details here.
The Best Record Store? The Music has named Canberra’s Landspeed Records “The Best Record Store in Australia” following a public vote. More.
Hyatt Heritage: The Hyatt is the latest landmark to be added to Canberra Tracks, with a sign unveiled last week. Canberra Tracks is a network of heritage signage made up of eight self-drive routes to many of Canberra's historic sites. Hotel Canberra is celebrating its centenary. The Yarralumla Residents Association was instrumental in adding the landmark to the heritage trail.
🧑‍⚖️ The Jury Experience: Step into the heart of a high-stakes trial with The Jury Experience. In this live theatre show, you are the jury—the power to deliver justice is entirely in your hands. You'll examine every piece of the puzzle, from witness testimonies to forensic data, and ultimately decide: guilty or innocent? Details here.
