There’s more ice hockey action coming to Canberra—The Ice Hockey Classic, featuring USA and Canada teams made up of past and present NHL stars and elite talent is heading to the AIS Arena. The Brave will take on Team USA on July 26, and USA will also face off against Canada in two separate fixtures.

Vanessa Larry Mitchell: Back with a brand new comedy hour, Vanessa Larry Mitchell shares more dating stories (or lack thereof), parenting confessions, anatomy awareness, and things that probably shouldn’t be said out loud. Details here.
The Canberra Skateboarding Association runs free Learn to Skateboard sessions at skateparks across Canberra. Helmets and skateboards are provided. The next session is on July 19 in Woden. Details here.
Criminal Age of Responsibility: The ACT has increased the age of criminal responsibility to 14. It was previously raised to 12 in 2023. More.
Dragon Boating World Titles: Ice hockey isn’t the only sport booming in Canberra—32 Canberrans have been selected for the national dragon boating team and will represent Australia at the Dragon Boat Racing World Championships in Germany on July 16. The ACT is home to eight dragon boat clubs catering to both competitive and social paddlers.
This week, Australian hip hop trio Bliss n Eso play UC, genre-defying Boo Seeka have added a second show at Smith’s after the first sold out, and there’s a night of Americana rock ’n’ roll at Dissent.
