๐ป The Sunflower Maze + Floral Workshops
The stunning sunflower maze at Majura Valley Farm is opening this Saturday. Along with snapping plenty of photos, you'll also have the chance to pick your own sunflowers ($3 per stem). Access to the maze is ticketed to manage crowd numbers, but walk-ins are welcome. While you're at the farm, make sure to pop into the farm shop, which stocks fresh eggs and other products from the local region. Details here.
Botanical Workshop: The farm is also running a hands-on floral arranging class in their regenerative flower farm. You'll use freshly picked blooms along with expert guidance from Spiral Botanicals' talented florists to craft your own personalised floral masterpiece. Details here.
This Weekend: ๐ South Canberra Community Markets
The South Canberra Community Markets happen on the first Saturday of the month. This weekend, browse the stalls in the relaxing atmosphere of Westwood Farm, in the foothills of the Brindabellas. At the markets, you'll find over 50 stalls selling plants, gifts, records, secondhand books, street food, and more. You can also pet and feed the farm animals and check out the display of vintage farm tractors and machinery. Details here.
๐ผ๏ธ Arts Around Canberra
Art Market: Find high-quality artwork made by local artists at the Blank& Creative Space this Saturday from 10 am โ 2 pm. The Art Market is hosted by You Are Hereas part of their fundraising Gala(h). "As much as we love a handmade market with tea towels and soaps and candles โ this one is a little different. We are selling: ART! Invest in incredible, locally made work and put it straight in your home or office."

HYPERSPECTRAL25: HYPERSPECTRAL25 is an immersive outdoor evening event featuring contemporary digital media, video, and audio installations, happening this Saturday at Photo Access. This year's edition explores the themes of "realities, synthetic realities, and consciousness."

The Reckoning: Braidwood-based artist Kate Stevens presents a powerful series of paintings examining the impact of alleged war crimes committed by Australia's Special Forces during the war in Afghanistan. It opens at Platform by Canberra Contemporary on Friday.

Grainger Gallery Buys New Space: The Grainger Gallery (Dairy Road) is taking over a 1960s two-storey building on Geelong Street in Fyshwick. The space will be used for events and exhibitions and is expected to open in March. (Thanks, Mark, for the hat tip!)
Coming Up: ๐ณ The Ocean Film Festival
The Ocean Film Festival World Tour includes a unique selection of films of varying lengths and styles covering topics such as ocean adventure and exploration, the oceanic environment, marine creatures, ocean-related sports, coastal cultures and ocean lovers. It's coming to Canberra next week at the NFSA. Details here.

Zara Closing: After 12 years in the Canberra Centre, Spanish fast-fashion retailer Zara is closing. It's been a tough run for fashion at the centre, with brands like COS, Tommy Hilfiger, and Muji also departing in the last two years. On the bright side, we did get Uniqlo!
New Build to Rent in Turner: A development application has been submitted for a new build-to-rent complex in Turner, replacing the long-vacant PCYC building, which has sat empty for over a decade. The project will feature 45 rental units, with 10 one-bedroom apartments reserved for at-risk young people aged 16โ24, and there will be a cafe to provide work opportunities. The development is a collaboration between Canberra PCYC, CHC, and the Snow Foundation.
