Here are some dates to add to the calendar:
Multicultural Festival (Feb 7-9): More than 170 communities will share their culture, history and heritage through food, art, song and dance at the three-day festival. Details here.
Lifeline Bookfair (Feb 7-9): The Lifeline Bookfair raises a major portion of the funding needed to keep our local crisis support service running. The book loversβ paradise is back at EPIC this February. Details here.
Belco Bowl Jam (Feb 14-16): Australia's longest-running skateboarding event. There will be three days of skateboarding around Canberra City and Belconnen, with the world's best skateboarders competing for more than $30,000 in prizes. Details here.
Canberra Show (Feb 21-23): Rides, fireworks, animals, show bags and much more. Details here.
The Canberra Comedy Festival is back this March and will be the biggest festival yet, with a stacked lineup of some of world's best comedians. Tickets are selling fast, with a couple of shows already sold out. Details here.
Mixtape Chorus is an indie pop choir that's open to singers of all abilities. There are no auditions, just come along to sing pop songs in a low-pressure, fun environment. Details here.
A new ninja obstacle course for kids has opened in Fyshwick. The concept is inspired by the Ninja Warrior and Sasuke TV shows, where contestants climb, swing, jump, and balance their way through a challenging obstacle course. Ninja Parc offers both casual play and structured classes. Details here.
The Hartley Hall Markets is one of Canberra's largest and longest-running markets. You'll find produce, baked goods, pottery, plants, furniture and more. Dogs are welcome. Entry is via a gold coin donation, with all money going to Hartley's vital work of supporting people with disabilities. The Hall Markets run on the first Sunday of every month. Details here.
π² Family-friendly Lunar New Year Ride today 3-5pm
Canberra by Bike's ride from Parliament to Dickson resembles a giant slithering snake, in honour of the new lunar year. We'll be on separated paths and welcome riders joining us at cross streets along the route. We'll reach Dickson in time for the Lunar New Year festival. Register and route map: Details here.

Groovin Gone?: The future of Groovin the Moo looks uncertain, with the music festival cancelled for a second year in a row. The single-day event, which toured regional Australia, included a stop in Canberra. More.
The Future of the Old Bus Depot: The ACT Government is seeking new ideas for the old transport depot in Kingston, with the current site licence set to expire in June. They suggest multiple suppliers could be awarded licences to use different parts of the building or operate on different days. The Old Bus Depot Markets will be reapplying to continue running the markets.
