Barrio Coffee: Barrio Coffee, the popular Lonsdale Street spot, has opened an espresso bar at their Dairy Road roastery. It’s open 7:30am–2pm, Wednesday to Saturday. You’ll find it at 1 Dairy Road (behind Capital Brewing).
Greenhouse Cafe: Greenhouse Cafe at the Canberra Centre is moving into the former Coffee Club location. It’s getting a snazzy multi-million dollar fit-out and a new menu (though old favourites will remain). Details here.
Viva Italia Gala Dinner: Celebrate the final night of Viva Italia with a delicious Italian dinner inspired by the mothers of Italy. Seamas Carey spent six years running Cornwall’s first alternative male voice choir (Men Are Singing) and has performed around the world with his solo work and theatre companies. He’s bringing his fun and informal collective singing workshops to Smith’s Alternative next weekend. Double Demerits: Double demerits will be in place for driving offences over the Easter long weekend, as well as next weekend. If you’re heading down the coast, double demerits will also apply in NSW.
Bin Collections: If your bins were scheduled for collection tomorrow (Good Friday), they’ll be collected instead on Saturday, April 19. Make sure they’re out by 7am. All other collection days—including Easter Monday and Anzac Day—will run as normal.
Dodgy Tradie: The ACT Commissioner for Fair Trading has taken the rare step of issuing a Public Warning Notice about an individual who has allegedly taken deposits for landscaping and carpentry work without delivering. He advertises through Gumtree and Facebook groups. More.
