Enjoy live music throughout the day and artists at Strathnairn Arts will also open their studios to visitors for the festival.

Gunning is an hour's drive from Canberra. This weekend is the Gunning Fireworks Festival. Since 1999, fireworks professionals from around Australia have used the event to showcase the latest and greatest fireworks. The festival is returning after a 4-year hiatus. The show is on Saturday evening from 6pm. Alongside the fireworks will be carnival rides, food vans and market stalls. Details here.
The 9th Classic Cruise for Camp Quality is happening this weekend. The Classic Cruise is an annual event raising funds for Camp Quality. Spectators are invited to wave off the cars before heading to the Questacon car park for the Show N Shine event, where you'll be able to check out the classic and luxury exotic vehicles. There will be face painting for kids and food vans to grab a bite to eat. Details here.
Tony and Pulitzer's award-winning play August: Osage County is being performed by the Free-Rain Theatre Company at The Hub. The darkly comedic drama explores the tensions and secrets of the Weston family as they reunite in their rural Oklahoma home after the disappearance of their patriarch. It opens on Thursday. The Canberra Environment Centre is a creating a biodiverse community garden at Gungaderra Homestead in Harrison. They meet weekly on Thursday mornings for gardening sessions. No experience is needed. Details here.
Capitals Return to AIS: The Canberra Capitals have confirmed they will be returning to the AIS for the upcoming WNBL season. The fixture list is now available, and games will start on November 3. More.
Tidbinbilla Reserve Closed: The Tidbinbilla Reserve has been temporarily closed until further notice after a number of trees have been downed during the high winds.
Wild Weather: The ACT State Emergency Service has been busy clearing debris after winds with gusts of up to 85km/h were recorded in Canberra. Several flights were cancelled in and out of Canberra due to the weather around Australia, and a man was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries after a branch went through a car window.
Housing Costs: The ABC is reporting that Canberra's house prices have stabilised. Prices have dipped slightly in the capital, including the price units dropping by 2.3 per cent over the past year. More.
