The full list of candidates for the upcoming ACT election was revealed yesterday. This year, a record 149 candidates are vying for the 25 seats in the Legislative Assembly. ABC election analyst Antony Green has put together an excellent preview for the 2024 ACT Election. Details here.
Election day is October 19. Early voting is available from October 8 and is available to all ACT voters.
Bookings are now open for Carlotta, a new Mediterranean restaurant opening in the city from the people behind the popular Chin Chin restaurants in Sydney and Melbourne. While a menu hasn't been released yet, you can expect handmade pasta, and seafood and meats cooked over coals. They'll open on October 21. Details here.
The Lifeline Bookfair is back this Friday to Sunday at EPIC. You'll find a wide range of fiction and non-fiction books, including rare books and collectables, children's books, textbooks and foreign language books. You'll also find magazines, sheet music, comics, maps and atlases, audiobooks, records and CDs, DVDs, games and jigsaws. The bookfairs raise a major portion of the funding needed to keep Canberra's local crisis support service running. Details here
The pop-up bar at the Canberra Museum will be ending this weekend. Happening at the pop-up this Friday, is a Mount Majura wine tasting from 5pm to 7pm, and this Saturday, local jazz musicians will be exploring the music of Chet Baker in Chasing Chet.
