This Weekend: 🦘 Tidbinbilla Open Day

This Sunday, explore the beauty of Tidbinbilla at the annual Open Day. Enjoy nature presentations, including a live snake display, and participate in workshops that celebrate the local environment. Kids can dive into a variety of hands-on activities while food stalls and live music set a relaxed outdoor atmosphere. Entry is free, but do note that all food and vendor purchases will be cash only. Something to do: πŸ₯Ύ Guided Walks

Now that the weather is warming up, it's the perfect time to get out into nature. ACT Parks and Conservation, in partnership with the Canberra Bushwalking Club, is running guided walks in Namadgi National Park. This weekend there is a guided walk up Mt Tennant (for very fit walkers), as well as a less strenuous walk to Rendezvous Creek and Gudgenby Grasslands.

Meet the Author: Virginia Trioli

Journalist, broadcaster, and author Virginia Trioli will be in conversation with Virginia Haussegger about her new book A Bit on the Side: Reflections on What Makes Life Delicious. It's happening this coming Monday. Details here.

Malta: A Childhood Under Siege

This Weekend: ⛲️ Open Gardens

With spring in full bloom, there's no better time to explore the hidden gems of Canberra's gardens as two beautiful properties open their gates to the public this weekend.

My Place in Torrens has stunning views over Isaacs Ridge, Black Mountain and Mt Taylor. Cuumbeun in Queanbeyan is a spectacular naturally landscaped native garden. Both gardens are open this Saturday and Sunday. Details here.

Open Gardens Canberra holds regular events throughout the year. If you're planning on visiting a few gardens, it's well worth becoming a member ($30). Members can visit all open garden events for free.


Concert: πŸͺˆ Mandolin + Recorder Collab

The Canberra Mandolin Orchestra and The Canberra Recorder Orchestra (yes, they exist!) are holding their inaugural collaboration concert this weekend. Details here.
