Now that it's spring, I'm sharing this popular resource one more:
ACT for Bees and Other Pollinators have put together this planting list for the Canberra region. The guide provides information on how to create pollinator-friendly habitats. Details here.
The best way to track Canberra's pollen levels during spring is by using the free, government-funded AirRater app. The pollen count is measured by The ANU using monitors that capture pollen on a sticky surface, which is then analysed under a microscope to identify the amount and species. This information, along with accurate air pollution data, is provided through the app. Details here.
Join expert astronomers from the Canberra Astronomical Society at Whitlam next Wednesday to see the stars and moon through powerful telescopes. The event is free, but bookings are required. Details here.
Holistic wellbeing studio Mandala is holding free come-and-try classes this weekend. There are yoga, meditation, life drawing, stretching, and even Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu classes available! Details here.
The popular annual Tharwa Bush Fair is happening this Sunday. There will be sheep shearing demonstrations, face painting, the famous Tharwa Fair cake stall, farm animal feeding and plenty of local artisan stalls. Details here.
Canberra Rep's latest production Away is opening this Friday. In this classic Australian story of found family and connection, three families set out on their own holidays before a storm brings them together on a Gold Coast beach to grieve, heal, and find hope for the future. A preview show is happening on Thursday with cheaper tickets. Details here.
Contentious Character will be hosting a Bridgerton-themed ball at their urban cellar door. Dress in fancy period attire (with a chance to win a prize for best dressed) and enjoy live music all night to celebrate the arrival of spring. You'll be treated to a cocktail on arrival before enjoying a selection of 5 delectable tapas. Details here.
