Tulip Top Gardens features acres of stunning world-class gardens with thousands of flowers in bloom. The gardens are located in Sutton, just a 20-minute drive from the city. There's a cafe in the gardens, as well as a Dutch pancake parlour and a Contentious Character pop-up that sells cheese and wine. When the weather is a little nicer, it's a great spot for a weekend picnic. Details here.
With winter sports coming to an end, there are still plenty of ways to get your local sports fix over the warmer months. Memberships for these teams are now on sale:
Canberra Chill
Canberra's Hockey Teams, The Chill, play in the national HockeyOne League starting on October 13. The Chill plays at the National Hockey Centre Lyneham, and games are also shown on 7+. The Women's team made it into the grand final last season.Details here.
Canberra Cavalry
Canberra's professional men's baseball team, the Canberra Cavalry, will start their season in November, with home games beginning in December. The Cavalry play at the 2250-seat Narrabundah Ballpark. The ABL can be streamed on Baseball+. Details here.
UC Capitals
The Capitals, Canberra's professional women's basketball team, will be back playing at AIS Arena this season. The Capitals tip off in November. The WNBL can be watched through 9Now. Details here.
Celebrate Oktoberfest at the Harmonie German Club on October 26. There will be authentic German bier, German music, dancing, and plenty of live entertainment. Tickets are available now, including an all-inclusive package with a Bavarian feast and unlimited tap bier. Details here.
The Kambah Sustainability Fair is happening this Sunday at the Kambah Woolshed. There will be an electric car exhibition, the launch of the Kambah Electric Bike Library, live music, kids' activities and crafts, arts and food and drink stalls. Details here.
There will be a plant swap happening at the fair. Bring along a plant, cutting or seed to Erin's Plant Swap and swap it for a selection of herbs, succulents, and flowers. You can also purchase a plant by making a donation, with proceeds going to charity.

Coldest September Temperature: Canberra experienced the coldest September temperature on record when it dipped to -6.9Β° early on Monday morning.
Sportsgrounds Maintenance: Most ACT government sportsgrounds will be closed for a two-week maintenance period starting today. The summer maintenance includes removing the goalposts, upgrading the turf and top dressing.
