🌱 Canberra Festival of Nature
During spring, a number of environmental groups and organisations will be holding events as part of the Canberra Festival of Nature being organised by Landcare ACT. Details here.
There are a couple of events coming up this weekend:
Croke Place Wetlands Open Day Come on down to Croke Place Wetlands in Evatt for a tour of the native grasslands, a free sausage sizzle provided by Lions Club, and a waterbugs table for the kids. Details here.
Mount Taylor Sunrise Walk and Planting Day Get up early this weekend for a sunrise walk up Mt. Taylor to watch the sunrise across the bush capital. Then, join the Mt Taylor ParkCare group for a community planting day. Details here.
Something to do: 🍿 Gold St Movie Club
Gold St Movie Club combines cult classics with a night out at the pub. This Friday the 13th, Friday the 13th will be shown. There will be a specially crafted food and drink menu, games, prizes and a costume competition. Details here.
News: 🌋 A Pompeii Exhibition is Coming to Canberra
The National Museum's next blockbuster exhibition will be an immersive experience about Pompeii. This will be the first time the collaboration between the Archaeological Park of Pompeii in Italy and the Grand Palais in France will be shown in Australia. The exhibition is an immersive, multi-sensory experience that vividly portrays the catastrophic eruption. More than 90 rare objects from the site will also be on display. It's opening at the NMA on December 13. More.
Exhibition: 🪡 ACT Embroiderers' Guild Exhibition
The annual exhibition of the ACT Embroiderers' Guild is happening this weekend. On display will be hundreds of embroidery items completed by Guild members over the last 12 months. Details here.
Friday: 🎓 CIT Open Day
Whether you're graduating this year or seeking to switch careers, come along to the Canberra Institute of Technology (CIT) Open Day this Friday. There will be activities happening across all 5 campuses. Details here.
Something to do: 💐 Flowering Forest Walks
Every Saturday, Sunday and Monday over the next month, The Arboretum will holding Flowering Forest Walks. Join the guides on a 1 hour walk to see the forests and gardens as they come into flower. Details here.

📮 Canberra Stamp Show
The Canberra Stamp Show is held every two years. It's a chance to see rare exhibits and perhaps snap up some treasures for the start of a new collection. It will be happening over four days starting tomorrow at EPIC. Details here.

MLA Dumped: Liberal MLA for the electorate of Ginninderra Elizabeth Kikkert was disendorsed as a candidate and removed from the Liberal Party room over alleged breaches of the Electoral Act and allegations of bullying of party staff. No details on the alleged breaches were released by the party. More.
