In the ACT, many recyclable containers can be taken to return points to receive a 10c refund. But did you know you can skip the trip and get your recyclable containers picked up instead? ReCollect will pick up your containers, take them to a drop-off point, and deposit the cash refund into your bank account. They charge a 3c service fee per container to cover the pickup. The ACT State Jigsaw Puzzle Competition is happening on October 19, and there is still time to register and take part. The competition is open to puzzlers of all ages and abilities, not just serious speed puzzlers. You can compete in pairs or as an individual. Everyone will receive the same 500-piece puzzle to complete in the shortest amount of time possible. There are prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place, as well as spot and raffle prizes. The ACT Woodcraft Guild will be holding its annual exhibition from October 4 to 7. The finest work from the Guild will be on display, and there will be a number of free demonstrations happening, including turning bowls, toy making, spoon and stool carving and more. There will also be a large range of handcrafted items for sale, including chopping boards, bowls, toys and more. Details here.

Australia's largest inflatable obstacle course is back in Canberra during the school holidays. The Tuff Nutterz course features numerous inflatable obstacles for sliding, climbing, bouncing and crawling. It's running from October 5 to 13 in Parkes Place. Details here.
Pedal Power runs Easy Social Rides designed for less experienced cyclists where the average pace is 15-18 km. There are a number of rides coming up in October. This weekend, there's a ride in Molonglo heading out to Stromlo Forest Park, which will stop at the Handlebar Cafe. Details here.
