Iconic vaudevillian variety show Dracula's is returning to Canberra with their latest show Sanctuary. The risqué burlesque comedy show features death-defying aerial acrobatics and knockout vocals. It's playing at the Canberra Theatre this Friday and Saturday. Details here.

This Weekend: 🍻 Oktoberfest at Capital Brewing
Oktoberfest is coming to the Taproom at Capital Brewing. There will be 12 German beers on tap, German sausages, and the Pork Knuckle Brass Band will be performing. No booking is required as it's walk-ins only. Details here.
Something to do: 🎱 Pool Competition
Transit Bar in the city is hosting a pool competition on Thursday nights. There are weekly prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd places, as well as a progressive jackpot prize for the grand final. Registration starts at 6:30 pm, and games begin at 7:00 pm. Details here.
Kids: 🐞 Gone Buggo
Naturalist, educator and wildlife photographer Steven Gill founded a social enterprise to educate and raise awareness of the importance of smaller, often less appreciated, forms of life. Gone Buggo is a live performance that is part science lesson, part comedy. The free show is happening at Belco Arts next Tuesday. Details here.

Fire Outside Canberra Theatre: ACT Fire and Rescue were called to extinguish a small blaze on a green strip outside Canberra Theatre yesterday afternoon. Police suspect the fire was deliberately lit.
Bushfire Season: Canberra's bushfire season began yesterday. While the season is expected to be an average one, Canberrans are still urged to be prepared. More.
Lit Up in Red: You may have noticed Canberra's light rail stations, Malcolm Fraser Bridge and the fountain outside the Canberra Centre were all illuminated red. It's to raise awareness of Dyslexia as part of Dyslexia Awareness Month. More.
