Today is election day. You can find your nearest polling place here.
Election Results Voting ends at 6pm tonight, and counting will begin immediately after. Within an hour of the polls closing, results from electronic voting at early voting centres are likely to be available. With around 40% of eligible voters having voted early, we'll get a good sense of how things are progressing early in the count. First preference results from electronic votes cast today will likely be available 1-2 hours after polls close.
Results will be posted on the Elections ACT website, and the ABC will provide updates and expert analysis. The ABC TV election coverage will be on ABC News (and iView) from 5:30 pm. Some seats may be very close, so we may not have all the results by the end of the night.
Formal Declaration The formal declaration of results is expected around October 30. Postal votes can be accepted until 5pm on October 25, and all votes must be counted before the declaration is made.
There's a native plant sale happening at the Botanic Gardens, the Murrumbateman Field Days are on, LBG is turning 60 and much more happening this weekend in Canberra.
