On Monday, get your shovels ready for the Great Bulb Dig, where you'll have the chance to take home bulbs planted for Floriade. Over half a million bulbs are available for you to dig up and plant in your own garden. To participate, you'll need to purchase a Dig Bag, which is available at Floriade and at the gates before the event. All proceeds from bag sales go to the local charity Roundabout Canberra. More details about King Charles III's visit to Canberra have been announced. The King and Queen will visit on Monday October 21, with an opportunity to meet them at the Parliament House forecourt. More.

The Aussie Bird Count provides a snapshot of Australian birds at the same time each year, allowing researchers to look at the trends in our bird communities from year to year. It's starting on October 14. To take part, you simply count the birds seen in your garden, local park or town centre over a 20-minute period and log them in the Aussie Bird Count app. Details here.
Capitol Bar and Grill has taken home the award for Best Wine List in the ACT at the 2024 Wine List of the Year awards. The awards recognise the time, skill, and resources invested by restaurant owners, managers, and sommeliers in crafting top-quality wine lists.
