Tomorrow is Love Your Bookshop Day—a celebration of local bookshops across the country. A few bookshops in Canberra are hosting special events to mark the occasion:

The Book Cow in Kingston has hidden a golden ticket in one of their books. The lucky finder will win a year’s supply of audiobooks. The store will also be running a spring sale, the Mix 106.3 cruiser will be out front, and there will be a scavenger hunt along Jardine Street. More.

Drop into the Harry Hartog store at ANU for a special spooky story time with colouring-in, cupcakes, and lots of bookish fun.

The Canberra Bonsai Society will be holding its annual show this weekend. The display will feature high-quality bonsai from the collections of CBS members. These two delightful properties offer terrific inspiration to suburban gardeners with their eclectic variety of colours and trees. Brindabella Lions Club will be providing refreshments. The smash-hit Broadway production and winner of five Tony Awards, Peter and the Starcatcher, is coming to Canberra for its Australian premiere. Starring Pete Helliar (The Amazing Race), Colin Lane (Lano & Woodley), Alison Whyte (Frontline), and Otis Dhanji (Aquaman), the play is a prequel to Peter Pan. Details here.
