Contentious Character Sells Winery: Contentious Character has put their Wamboin winery on the market. Earlier this year they moved their cellar door from Wamboin to Dairy Road in Fyshwick. They'll continue to source grapes from five regional vineyards and plan to extend the Dairy Road precinct in the future into a fully integrated urban winery.

Grapes for a Changing Climate: Mount Majura Vineyard is trialling grapes that can better cope with the changing climate. Albarino, Mencia, and Paraletta varieties come from Spain and are potentially better suited to a warmer Canberra climate. More.

Summer Blend: Common Grounds in Gowrie has partnered with Brisbane-based Parallel Roasters to create the Summer Coffee Blend with notes of mango, blueberry and nectarine. They'll be launching the blend at two tasting sessions this weekend. Details here.

The Canberra Festival of Speed is gearing up for an even bigger event in 2025 with upgrades to the Exhibition Circuit at Thoroughbred Park. Key enhancements include widened corners and a double-width chicane, making the track more accessible for exotic open-wheeled race cars. HMAS Canberra Parade: Officers and sailors from HMAS Canberra will exercise their right to Freedom of Entry into Canberra this Saturday. They will be parading through the city from 11am. Details here.
10th Road Fatality: A 66-year-old man died after he crashed his e-bike into a wall on Sunday in Kambah. It is the 10th death on Canberra's roads in 2024. There were just 4 deaths in 2023. More.
Canberra Cavalry, our local professional men's baseball team, competes in the Australian Baseball League and plays home games at Narrabundah Ballpark. There are several themed game nights to look forward to, including Thanksgiving Night, USA Night, Japan Night, and CavsMas Night (a Christmas-themed event). A Bentspoke Beer Garden has also been added to the ballpark this season.
