The Mount Stromlo Observatory is one of the oldest institutions in the ACT. In 1924, the Commonwealth Solar Observatory was established, which turned into the Commonwealth Observatory and then Mt Stromlo Observatory.
Mt Stromlo astronomer and Nobel Laureate in Physics, Prof Brian Schmidt, will be in conversation with ABC's Annabel Crabb to take you through 100 years of Mt Stromlo Observatory. It promises to be a fascinating evening. Details here.

Urban Biome is an interactive public installation that has been installed in Civic Square as part of the Craft + Design Canberra Festival. The work is a collaboration between three local designers and makers and showcases regenerative design and reuse of materials. It's on display until November 30.
The Raiders have launched their jerseys for the 2025 season including an NFL-inspired all-green kit, which will be used when the Raiders play in Las Vegas. The away jersey pays homage to the classic 1992 Raiders v Great Britain jersey. Details here.

It includes Noël Coward's comic play Blithe Spirit, Baby Jane based on the American psychological horror novel Whatever Happened to Baby Jane, and Lizzy, Darcy & Jane, a fictional reimagining of Jane Austen's life and the characters she created. Light Rail Construction: The next stage of light rail construction will begin soon. As a result, the two carparks at the Acton Waterfront off Commonwealth Avenue will close on November 4 and will remain closed for the duration of construction.
Canberra Fun Run: The Canberra Fun Run is happening on Sunday. There will be a number of road closures around the City between 4:30 and 11:30 am. Details here.
New Newsreader: After two years, James Glenday has stepped down from ABC Canberra as the TV newsreader. He's tipped to be the next host of ABC News Breakfast. Greg Jennett will be his replacement.
