NatureMapr is a Canberra-built app for citizen scientists. Anyone can upload photos of plant and animal sightings. These sightings are verified by experts and provide reliable data for researchers.
New Eats: 🇱🇧 Azima
Azima is taking over the space that Brunello used to occupy on City Walk. The Lebanese restaurant is run by the people behind the hatted Inka and the new Koto restaurant. The menu features a large selection of Mezze as well as a very reasonable $55 set menu. Azima is opening on May 31st. Details here.

News: 🏥 First Stage of New Hospital Building to Open
The welcome hall in the new critical services building at Canberra Hospital will open on June 3rd and will serve as the hospital’s new entrance. It’s the first stage of the transition into the new building, and health services will begin moving in August. The building will house the new Intensive Care Unit and the new Emergency Department with an additional 72 treatment spaces.
Exhibition: 🖼️ Tree Songs
Happening now at the Beaver Galleries (Deakin) is Tree Songs by Justin Laffan. The exhibition features carved and painted woodblocks depicting Australian wildlife. Details here.
News: Woman Found Dead in Pialligo
A 52-year-old man is in Police custody after a woman was found dead at a home on Kallaroo Road in Pialligo. The circumstances surrounding her death have not been released by police. More.

Parliament House Illumination: Parliament House will be illuminated as part of Reconciliation Week. The illumination depicts ancient Australian landscapes and is inspired by the artwork Puli Puli.
Terry Snow is Retiring: Terry Snow has announced he is retiring at age 80. Snow owns Canberra Airport and the Capital Property Group.
