From July, the average annual electricity bill in Canberra will increase by $240. The Independent Competition and Regulatory Commission approved a 13% increase in power prices, lower than the forecasted 17% increase. More
The price increase will apply to customers on the standing offer. Make sure you shop around—you should never pay the standing offer, as there are cheaper deals available. aThe price rise will be offset by the $300 power bill rebate from the federal government.
