The Federal Budget was delivered last night. Over the next 10 years, $808 million will be spent on infrastructure projects in the ACT including funding for the duplication of William Hovell Drive. Already announced was $50 million for the design of light rail to Woden and $250 million for AIS upgrades. $10 million will be provided to develop a Bruce Masterplan, which will include a new Canberra Stadium. This work will be done over the next 12 months.
Commonwealth funding for the ACT is set to increase to $3.8 billion in 2027/28, up from the $3.5 billion set aside for 2024/25.
MLA Michael Pettersson has proposed re-establishing Canberra's marriage registry to offer couples a low-cost option. Registry weddings were stopped in the 1990s due to a lack of demand. The motion passed in the Legislative Assembly, and the ACT Government will investigate the reintroduction of registry weddings.

ACT For Bees and Buy Nothing Ainslie are holding an open garden for World Bee Day this Sunday. The guided tour will showcase the Ainslie Peace Garden and its design, which supports bees and other pollinators. The event is free, but registration is required.
