News: 🏗️ UNSW's New City Centre Campus

UNSW is building a new campus in the city centre. Consultation is now open, and you can provide feedback on the design of Stage 1. The new campus will be built on the corner of Constitution Avenue and Coranderrk Street in Parkes. The site is currently a dirt car park. Construction is expected to begin in 2025 and be finished in 2027. Details here.

Volunteering in Canberra

Are you looking to give back to the community and meet new people? This Saturday, there is a Volunteering Expo at UC. There is a wide and diverse range of organisations exhibiting, with sectors such as environment, sport, education, science, arts, tourism, emergency response and more. This Weekend: 🎵 Capital Brewing Record Fair

There will be a popup Record Fair happening on Sunday at Capital Brewing Dairy Road. There will be thousands of records to browse through while enjoying a brew. Details here.

Thursday: 📽️ Flickerfest

Flickerfest is the country's largest Australian & International short film competition and screens the best of short films from Australia and around the globe. The national tour is coming to Canberra this Thursday at Palace Cinema. Details here.

🌳 Competitive Tree Climbing

This weekend, arborists from around the ACT will be competing in the ACT Tree Climbing Championships. These competitions encourage excellence in technical tree climbing and demonstrate the latest arborist tech. The top tree climbers will go on to represent Canberra at the National championships next year. You can see the competition happening this Saturday and Sunday in Weston Park from 9am.

Something to do: 🍷 Introductory Wine Appreciation

Learn the basics of wine in a fun and friendly 2 hour workshop. You'll discover the essential elements of wine, how wine is made, food and wine pairing, and you get to do all this by tasting your way through a hand-picked selection of quality Canberra wines. Sofronoff Investigation: The ACT Integrity commissioner says he suspects "on reasonable grounds" that Mr Sofronoff's conduct may constitute corruption. More.

Did you see the Aurora Australis? The lights were captured by photographers at Williamsdale near Canberra. The Aurora australis displays are still possible but less likely. I've found the best way to check the aurora forecast is by using this app.

Gang Gang Comedy Night: There will be a live comedy night happening tomorrow evening at Gang Gang. More.

Federal Budget: The budget will be delivered by the treasurer at 7:30pm tonight. I'll cover any Canberra related announcements tomorrow.
