For years, the Canberra Symphony Orchestra has received significantly less funding from the Federal Government than other state orchestras. The Federal Government has now announced a $4.1 million funding boost for the CSO, which will help secure the orchestra’s future.
Every Wednesday, Smith’s Alternative in the city holds a craft afternoon. From 12:30pm, bring in craft projects, whatever they may be: Cross-stitch, crochet, embroidery, knitting etc., and hang out with other crafty individuals. Details here.
Palace Cinema is holding a special screening of The Way, My Way. Based on Bill Bennett’s book of the same name, the film follows the story of an Australian man’s transformative experience walking the Camino de Santiago, and the people he meets along the way that changed his life forever.
The screening includes a Q&A with writer & director Bill Bennett and producer/actor Jennifer Cluff. The screening is happening tomorrow evening from 6:30pm. Details here.
For the third year in a row the Belgium Embassy in Canberra will be throwing open its doors to celebrate World Bee Day. There will be guided beehive tours, a market, and live music. You can also bring a picnic to enjoy on the lawns of the embassy. The money raised will go towards supporting Ukrainian beekeepers who are struggling to make a living due to the war. Details here.

Gorman House Upgrades: The ACT Government has submitted a Development Application for upgrades to Gorman House. A new cafe will open to replace the restaurant that used to be Sage, and a number of buildings will renovated. More.
