Joanne Farrell is a champion for women and girls in the construction industry. She has been named the ACT Woman of the Year. Farrell founded the not-for-profit, Build Like a Girl organisation that supports women in the trades. More.
News: ποΈ Plans Lodged For The Next Stage of The Belconnen Markets Development
Plans have been lodged for the next stage of the Belconnen Markets Development. The plans propose two five-storey buildings with 300 apartments, a hotel, and retail shops. The new precinct will be built on the Ibbott Lane site, which temporarily housed the Belconnen Fresh Food Markets while the new markets were being built. News: ποΈ Upgrades for the Elouera and Mort Streets Intersection
Last year, Canberrans were invited to have their say on the proposed upgrades to the intersection of Elouera and Mort Street in Braddon. Based on that feedback, the proposed design has been released. The intersection will feature raised pedestrian crossings, new lighting, and garden beds. The established trees will also be retained. Construction will begin in the next couple of weeks.
