News: Man Accused of Cold Case Murder Identified by DNA on Milk
One of the men alleged to have killed Canberra woman Irma Palasics was identified from DNA left on a milk bottle after he allegedly drank from it during the violent home invasion. The case remained unsolved for more than 20 years before this breakthrough. More.
Something to do: π Apple Picking at Tanbella Orchard
Due to the unseasonable summer, Pialligo's Tanbella Orchard had to close its self-pick orchard. But I have great news. The orchard will be open again this Friday for the Easter long weekend.
Pick directly from the beautiful orchard, which includes over 100 varieties of apples, pears, nashi and peaches. Remember to bring along a bag. It will be open from Friday to Monday, 10am to 4pm. Entry is $8 per family or group (up to 5) and $7 per kilo for all fruit picked. Details here.

CIT Horticulture is having an Autumn plant sale tomorrow afternoon. Pick up a great range of plants for your garden, including various native and exotic plants prepared by horticulture students. All plants are offered at very reasonable prices. Details here.
News: Woolworths Looking to Expand Hawker Supermarket
Woolworths is looking for a direct land sale from the ACT Government to expand their supermarket in Hawker. Currently, the supermarket is a Woolworths Metro, and the plan is to expand the current store across the open-air carpark and courtyard to offer a full-line Woolworths. Woolworths would replace the parking with an underground car park. You can see their plans here.
This Weekend: π Easter Steam Train Rides
The Canberra Picnic Train is back this Easter long weekend. The steam train will be taking a return journey from Canberra to Bungendore. Enjoy views of the spectacular Molonglo Gorge, travel through three tunnels and view the rolling country scenery from your heritage carriage. Details here.

Soul singer and seven-time Grammy award winner Gladys Knight is coming to Canberra as part of her farewell tour on the 28th of March. There are still some tickets available. Details here.
