Construction will soon begin on a new half-pipe at the Belconnen Skate Park. The competition-standard half-pipe is being fabricated off-site from metal and wood and will be installed soon. It will open to the public in the second half of 2024. The Belconnen Skatepark was redeveloped in 2011 and, at the time, was Australia's largest skatepark. It hosts the annual Belco Bowl Jam, one of Australia's most popular skate competitions. This will be the first competition-standard half-pipe in Canberra.
Celebrate International Francophonie Week at the annual market with free food, drinks and activities offered by over 10 French-speaking countries. It's happening this Friday from 4pm to 6pm at Alliance Française in Turner. Details here.

Canberra by Bike is hosting a gentle roll from the north bank of Lake Burley Griffin to the dog play area in Haig Park, then a stroll to the inaugural Sustainable Transport Street Party. The ride is open to anyone carrying their dog on a cargo bike, basket or backpack. Details here.
The National Capital Orchestra's first performance of 2024 is happening this weekend at The Q, featuring Prokofiev, Stravinski, and works by two local composers. Details here.
