Today: 🍀 St. Patrick’s Day

Today is St. Patrick’s Day. Several venues in Canberra will be celebrating the day. Here are a few:

PJs in the City is serving $7 green schooners, Guinness pot pies, and bangers and mash. Details here.

King O’Malleys will have live music and dancing throughout the day, and Guinness and Kilkenny will be on tap. Details here.

Sport: Raiders Beat Tigers

The Raiders beat the Tigers 32-12 at home on Saturday. They’ll be playing the Warriors on Friday night in New Zealand. Match report.

Sport: Brumbies Win in Dunedin

The Brumbies fought hard for their first win against the Highlanders in Dunedin since 2013. Several injuries to Brumbies players overshadowed the 27-21 win. Match report.

News: 🎻 Braddon Busking Hub

The ACT Government is looking to promote busking and help local musicians in Canberra. One problem buskers are facing is an increasingly cashless society. Musicians can apply to the Braddon Busking Hub and they’ll receive a free sign that displays a QR code that passersby can scan to send a tip. The Government is hoping to establish a busking culture on the busy streets in Braddon. Find out more.

The Canberra Lapidary Club is hosting the 2024 Canberra Rock Swap. You’ll find dealers and fossickers selling beautiful jewellery, gemstones, opals, fossils, crystals, rocks, mineral specimens and lapidary supplies. There will a sausage sizzle and the entry to the event is free. Details here.
