The independent regulator has updated prices for water and sewerage in Canberra for 2024/25. From July 1, water bills in Canberra are set to rise by an average of 7.1%. The commission has said the rise is due to inflation and critical infrastructure investments.
Ginninderra Catchment Group is hosting a day of free activities and talks for the whole family about how you can find and nurture nature in your backyard and surrounding suburb. Learn how to make a frog habitat, discover water bugs, plant some native trees and go on a tour. It’s happening Saturday 11am to 3pm. Details here.
The summit walking tracks in the Pinnacle Nature Reserve have been upgraded with new stairs and an improved track surface. While this weekend isn’t the best weather for walking, when the weather is good there are stunning views from the summit over the Brindies to Black Mountain, Belconnen, Woden and Namadgi. The walks begin from the parking area off Springvale Drive in the suburb of Weetangera. Details here.
Italian restaurant Agostinis in Griffith is hosting a special Truffle Dinner. The 4-course shared menu features truffles from the Blue Frog Truffle Farm, located just outside Canberra. It’s happening on June 28. Details here.
The Brindabella Orchestra is an activity from The University of the Third Age. They have two concerts planned for this year, and the first one is happening this weekend: Autumn Splendour conducted by Shilong Ye will be at the Weston Community Hub Neighbourhood Hall on Sunday at 3 p.m. Details here.
