News: Pialligo Estate to Reopen

Pialligo Estate is set to reopen in July. The property has been taken over by restaurateur Anthony Whitehouse and AFR rich lister Tony Denny. Whitehouse has run a number of ventures around the region, including the War Memorial cafe, Olleyville at Shaw Estate and Westering at the Lake George Winery.

Pialligo Estate abruptly closed last March, leaving staff and suppliers unpaid and those with wedding bookings out of pocket.


News: 🚲 Pop-Up Cycle Lane Near Bowen Park Now Open

A "pop-up" cycle lane has opened on Bowen Drive. It runs between the Bowen Park Carpark and Avenue Bridge and has been constructed in one of the existing traffic lanes. The new cycle lane adds much-needed capacity to this stretch of path around the lake. The existing path in this area will be for pedestrians only. See it here.


Eats: 🍽️ So and So Pop-Up at Such and Such

So and So is a monthly event at Such and Such (City), which showcases the best of Canberra's hospitality industry. This Sunday afternoon, Holly and Noora from Pilot in Ainslie will be bringing their food and drinks to Such and Such. Details here.


This Week: 🎭 Midsummer Night Dream

Shakespeare's classic comedy, A Midsummer Night's Dream will be playing at Canberra Theatre from the 7th to 15th June. Details here.


Tomorrow: πŸŽ‚ Bentspoke Street Party

Bentspoke is turning 10, and to celebrate, they're throwing a street party in Braddon. There will be BBQ from Meat Wizard, new brews created for the celebration and live music from Canberra's own Sophie Edwards. Details here.


🍹 Squeaky Clean Takeover

After Service is a group of young Canberra hospitality upstarts who takeover venues for the night to offer a unique and curated drinks menu. This weekend, they'll be taking over Squeaky Clean (upstairs at Verity Lane). Details on this event are sparse, but expect a party. Details here.

Snow: Snow has fallen in the Kosciuszko ski fields just in time for the ski season's opening. More snow is forecast to fall over the next two weeks.
