News: โฝ๏ธ Canberra Petrol Prices Highest in Country
According to the latest ACCC report, Canberra has the highest petrol prices among major cities in Australia. The average price for petrol in Canberra over the last quarter was 202.0 cents per litre, increasing by 0.3 cents. All other cities except Brisbane saw petrol prices decrease. Canberra's price increase has been blamed on a lack of competition. The ACCC advises Canberra motorists to use fuel price apps to find the best deals, as prices vary significantly across different brands.
New Eats: ๐ Shorty's to Takeover Wakefield
Shorty's Bar will be returning for a five-day takeover of Wakefields Wine Bar (Ainslie) in September. They'll bring back favourites, including their deep-fried golden gay times, and the original deals, including $15 schnittys and steaks.
Concert: ๐น Passion and Poetry
Young cellist James Monro and pianist Edward Neeman will be presenting a dynamic classical concert program this Sunday, including the fiery passion of Piazzolla's "Le Grand Tango" to the tender melodies of Schumann's Cello Concerto and the rhythmic intensity of Cassadรณ's "Dance of the Green Devil". Lake Ginninderra Path Upgrades: The southern foreshore shared path on Lake Ginninderra will be closed until March 2025. The path is getting upgraded. See a map of the closure here.
Batik Air Flights Begin: Batik Air will begin flying between Canberra and Bali tomorrow. I've heard some reports of booked flights being rescheduled. Let me know if this has happened to you.
