Telstra has agreed to work with the ACT Government to refurbish Black Mountain Tower. The site, owned by Telstra, has been closed to the public since 2021. The refurbishment includes plans for a cafe, shop and observation decks. The bad news is the plans are still in the very early stages and it will be 2026 at the earliest before Black Mountain Tower reopens.

Stepping Stone Cafe in Strathnairn holds a monthly Silent Book Club. Unlike a regular book club, there are no assigned books or discussions. Just a peaceful space to read for an hour and some optional socialising at the end. Details here.
Kingston is getting another new cafe. Good Neighbour is the latest venture from the owner of Gus’ Place. It will feature a small, curated menu of breakfast and lunch favourites including the popular Huevos Sucios (Dirty Eggs) from Gus’. Good Neighbour is opening tomorrow. It’s on Wentworth Avenue.
Canberra Rep’s latest production is Dead Man’s Cell Phone, a bizarre and biting romantic comedy that explores contemporary connection in a technologically obsessed world. It’s running from the 13th to 29th June. Details here.
