Canteen by Ramen Daddy is one of the best places to get ramen in Canberra. The team from Canteen are teaming up with Campbell's contemporary Australian restaurant Peonee for a one-night special. The event will feature a sharing-style menu composed of dishes created by the two teams. It's happening on the 24th of July. Details here.
Comedian and painter Anh Do is bringing his stage show The Happiest Refugee to Canberra. The performance combines stand-up comedy with real-life stories, photos and filmed pieces to retell his amazing story. It's happening in November. Details here.
Edgar's Inn (Ainslie) is hosting a one-off special steak night. The set menu is designed around using the whole of the cow and features various cuts. Details here.
This Winter Pollen Cafe at the Botanic Gardens is doing a special weekday lunch deal. For $29, youβll get a two-course lunch with a complimentary glass of mulled wine made using local Mada wine. Details here.
While there, why not look at the Garden's latest exhibition by artist Elizabeth Truswell: The exhibition features charcoal and watercolour works showcasing Black Mountain and Sullivans Creek. It's on now until the 30th of June. Details here.
The Brumbies won their quarter-final game in Canberra and now move on to the tough task of facing the Blues in Eden Park. The Brumbies last won at Eden Park in 2013. The semi-final game is this Friday 14th, at 5 pm.
The National Film Sound Archive is running a book club exploring how culturally significant books have been adapted and reimagined as films. Next weekend's book is Fight Club. The screening will be followed by a discussion of the film and the novel with special guest Andrew Hutchinson in conversation with Kaya Wilson. Details here.
Austin TV Series: Austin, the TV series starring Ben Miller (Death in Paradise) and Sally Phillips (Bridget Jones's Diary), was filmed primarily in Canberra. The show premiered on ABC yesterday and is available on iView.
Adventure All Stars: In more TV news, you may see the Channel 7 series Adventure All Stars being filmed in Canberra this week. Canberra is featured in Episode 1 of Season 5.
