Southern Harvest is a non-profit dedicated to promoting local food and farming in the Canberra region. They offer multi-farm produce boxes available for pick-up from locations all across Canberra. You subscribe to a “season” of boxes, which gives the farmers greater financial security. In return, you get fresh produce that is often picked the same day as delivery. Stepping Stone Cafe provides opportunities and employment for migrant and refugee women from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds. This weekend, for the first time, they will stay open after dark for a special dinner in partnership with Her Kitchen Table. On the menu will be three vegetarian courses, each accompanied by a personal story from the chef who created it. The dinner is happening this Saturday. Details here.
The Taiwan Film Festival is an annual event that provides a professional showcase platform for Taiwanese and Asian Australian filmmakers. This weekend, the festival is coming to the National Film and Sound Archive, with 6 different films showing (with English subtitles). Details here.
Tuggeranong Arts is holding a one-off Drawing with Confidence class this weekend with artist Barak Zelig. Suitable for beginners and for those who are interested in developing their drawing skills, the emphasis will be on improving your capacity to see proportions and shapes and to translate them onto paper using your choice of pencil, charcoal or artists crayons. This Friday Canberra District Wines, will be bringing several wineries to the City for an evening of tasting. Enjoy wine tasting from 5 different local wineries accompanied by a cheese and charcuterie platter. It’s happening this Friday evening at the East Hotel (Kingston). Details here.
In 2012, Julia Gillard's speech sent shockwaves around the world. The play, Julia, is a stirring and inspiring re-examination of that moment and is on at the Canberra Theatre from the 31st of July to the 11th of August. Details here.

Eklektika is a 12-voice vocal ensemble performing an eclectic range of music and genres.
