πŸ“š Street Libraries in Canberra

Did you know there are over 200 street libraries located around Canberra? Street Libraries are small homes for books, usually placed in people's front yards. Anyone in the community can check out a book and they can be returned to the same street library or another around the city. Chances are there is a street library near you. Find out more.


National Missing Persons Week

It's National Missing Persons Week. The annual campaign aims to raise awareness of long-term missing persons. In the ACT, there are currently 14 such cases. More.


Coming Up: 🧬 Future Science Talks

Future Science Talks: Comedy Edition is debuting in Canberra after sold out shows across Australia. Local scientists from Canberra will partner with comedians to infuse humour and laughs into scientific talks. The show is happening at Questacon on the 10th of August as part of National Science Week. Details here.


Sport: πŸ‰ Two Raiders Wins

Both the men's and women's Raiders teams won on Sunday. The Raiders (w) opened their NRLW campaign with a thumping 32-12 win over the Tigers. Match report.

The Raiders (m) comfortably beat the Rabbitohs at Canberra Stadium 32-12. The Raiders move up to 9th, keeping their chance of a top-eight finish alive. Match report.


This Weekend: 🎺 International Blues Music Day

Canberra Blues Society will be celebrating the 12th International Blues Music Day this Saturday. There will be 9 acts across 2 stages, a Hot Rod display, busking and specialty markets. Details here.


New Eats: 🍣 Kushi’s

Kushi's is a new Japanese restaurant at the Capital Food Market in Belconnen, offering an Izakaya dining experience. Izakaya are casual places in Japan, similar to pubs, where people can enjoy a drink and food. Details here.


Something to do: πŸƒ Running for Resilience

In 2010, Matt Breen founded Running for Resilience, recognising the positive impact that regular running had on his own mental health. The group hosts four different events each week, starting near The Dock on the Kingston Foreshore. No registration required and participants can choose to either walk or run. Details here.
