👨‍🎨 What's Happening to the Public Art in Garema Place

Construction work will soon begin on the upgrades to Garema Place. Upgrades include increasing the green space and extending the outdoor dining areas. The design changes mean much of the existing public art in Garema Place will be removed. The City Renewal Authority has provided an update is changing:

• The Cushion will be retained but moved to a new location within Garema Place.
• The Poet's Corner busts will be relocated to Glebe Park
• The Father and Son fountain (does it still work?) will be returned to the National Capital Authority.
• My personal favourite - The Big Swoop - will move to another temporary location in the City, but they've promised it will visit Garema Place from time to time.

You can see the designs for the Garema Place upgrade here. Work will be in Spring 2024, with most of the construction beginning in early 2025 so as not to disrupt Christmas shopping too much.

The Doctor Who Tardis located out the front of Reload Bar in the Sydney Building has been put up for sale as Reload Bar will soon be closing. The owners listed the bar for sale recently. If you are interested in purchasing the Tardis, it will set you back a cool $5450!
