Chefs Eat Canberra is an upcoming book by retired restaurateur and reviewer Chris Hansen with stunning photos by Ashley St George. It's a guide to the best dishes that the best chefs like to eat in Canberra. The book not only showcases the favourite dishes of the top local chefs but also includes historical anecdotes about Canberra's vibrant food scene, interviews with chefs, and recipes so you can recreate these amazing dishes at home. Celebrate seasonal produce at the Dairy Road Winter Market this Sunday. The market is being held in partnership with Southern Harvest - the region's farmer cooperative. Over 50 producers will be selling their goods, including cold-season produce like truffles, wine, garlic and olives. Details here.
There will also be a live truffle cooking demonstration from local French Chef Christophe Gregoire. He'll be using fresh truffles from his farm in Bungendore to showcase various methods of incorporating truffles into cooking. Details here.
Canberra Rep's latest production is William Golding's Lord of the Flies - a faithful adaptation of the famous 1954 novel about a group of boys who become stranded on an uninhabited island. The show opens this Friday with a preview performance (cheaper tickets) this Thursday. Details here.

Koto is a Japanese fine dining restaurant nestled in the Old Parliament House rose gardens, where the iconic Lobby Restaurant used to be. From the 29th of July until September, Koto will be offering an impressive 18-course Omakase menu. The phrase omakase literally means 'I leave it up to you.' Each night, the menu will change to showcase the highest quality seasonal ingredients and seafood selected by hatted Executive Chef and Sushi Master, Shinya Nakano.
