📕 ACT Book of the Year Shortlist
The 2024 ACT Book of the Year shortlist has been released. The books are:
- The Measure of Sorrow: Stories by J. Ashley-Smith
- The Seven by Chris Hammer
- Sleeplessness by Paul Hetherington
- The Great Gallipoli Escape by Jackie French
- Untethered by Ayesha Inoon
- Tiwi Story: Turning history downside up by Mavis Kerinaiua and Laura Rademaker
The ACT Book of the Year Award has a $10,000 grand prize and is open to all ACT (and I guess Braidwood 😉) based writers. There were 41 eligible nominations for this year's award. The winner, selected by an independent panel, will be announced on August 6th at Tuggeranong Library.
Eats: 🍽️ Mínima
The brothers behind the recently closed Morks restaurant in Kingston are opening their new restaurant, Mínima, in Yarralumla. It will be open starting Tuesday for lunch and dinner. Expect an intimate space serving a 'third-culture' menu, which blends elements from different culinary traditions to create unique and innovative dishes.
