The illuminated Ossolites in the ActewAGL building on Bunda Street will be moved to a new home in Kingston. Known as The Journey, the large installation was created by the late Canberra designer and artist Robert Foster. He also designed the iconic Fink Water Jug. The artwork is the first confirmed piece for the future Kingston Arts Precinct.

The AIS will be hosting two Olympic watch parties in the newly refurbished AIS Arena. The first live event will be on August 4th and the second during the Paralympics. I'll have more details soon.
The International Chess Federation (FIDE) is celebrating its 100th anniversary. To mark the occasion, they are looking to break the Guinness World Record for the most chess games played in 24 hours.
Canberra Street Chess will take part in the event this Saturday. Street Chess is a weekly outdoor chess competition for people of all ages and strengths. It has been running for over 25 years! They play every Saturday at 11am outside King O'Malley's. Details here.
