Since 2021, a pilot food waste collection program has been running in Belconnen, Bruce, Cook and Macquarie. So far, 2,844 tonnes of food waste has been collected.
Plans have been released for an industrial in-vessel (to minimise odours) composting facility capable of processing 50,000 tonnes of FOGO (Food Organics and Garden Organics) material per year. It will recycle waste into compost. The facility will be built in Hume.
Once complete FOGO collection will be available city-wide.

Dookki is an all-you-can-eat Korean restaurant. It recently opened in Belconnen. This is the second Dookki restaurant to open in Australia. There are a couple of hundred Dookki locations in South Korea. Dookki serves Tteokbokki. There’s a video on their website which shows how it works. Details here.
The Mixtape Chorus is an indie-pop choir. They don’t hold auditions, and everyone is welcome. You can go along for a single week or for the rest of the term. This Thursday evening, the Mixtape Chorus is singing ‘Somewhere Only We Know’. Details here.
