News: 🏠 Property Prices Were Flat During 2023

Based on CoreLogic data, house prices across Canberra increased by just 0.5% over 2023. The national property growth rate was 8.1%. A healthier housing supply has kept prices down over the past year. However, Canberra is still the second most expensive city to buy a house in after Sydney. Canberra is still recovering from the surge in house prices during the Covid-19 pandemic. More.


News: Memorials in Lennox Gardens Vandalised

Over a dozen memorials in Lennox Gardens have been damaged by vandals. The memorials, which included the Peace Bell, were graffitied with various offensive messages. Anyone with information about the damage is urged to contact Crime Stoppers.


Something to do: 🚲 Canberra Wine Region E-Bike Tours

Canberra Wine Region E-Bike Tours hires e-bikes for self-guided wine tours to the 6 different wineries accessible from the Yass Valley Wine Trail. They also offer more comprehensive full-day guided tours on Saturdays and Sundays. Half Day bike hire starts from $65. Details here.


Tomorrow: 🚙 Summernats Begins

The Summernats car festival kicks off tomorrow and will run until the 7th. This year, an extended ‘fringe festival’ is happening in Braddon from 5pm to 11pm on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Lonsdale Street and parts of Eloura and Mort Street will be closed daily from 3:00pm to 12:00am.

On Thursday at noon, there will be a “City Cruise” with vehicles parading down Northbourne. Details here.


Coming Soon: 🌳 Treetops Adventure Park

A new high ropes adventure course will open in Canberra later this year. The Treetops Adventure Park will be based in Majura Pines and feature 4 children’s courses and six adult courses with over 100 obstacles reaching up to 18 metres above ground. Construction of the course will begin soon and will hopefully open in April. More.
