News: 👮 Record Drug Bust

Police have seized 106kg of methamphetamine in Canberra’s largest-ever meth bust. The drugs were allegedly hidden inside a consignment labelled as car radiators. The shipment was addressed to a business premises in Fyshwick. No arrests have been made, and the investigation is ongoing.

News: 🦠 Measles Case in Canberra

ACT Health has warned of a measles case in Canberra. While the risk to the public is limited, everyone is advised to stay alert for symptoms. The person most likely acquired the infection overseas and travelled from Sydney airport via a Murrays Bus to Canberra on Saturday 20th, at 10:30am. This Weekend: Drone Show and Night Markets

An epic drone show will take place tonight and tomorrow night over Lake Burley Griffin. There are three shows each night, each telling a different story. The shows are at 8:30pm, 9:30pm and 10:30pm each evening. The Night Markets are being held at Commonwealth Place. Details here.

New eats: 🍓 Strawberry Van

Canberra is getting a Strawberry Van selling cups of strawberries covered in melted chocolate. The van was inspired by a similar concept at the London Borough Market, which went viral on TikTok. The Strawberry Van will be debuting at the Flight night markets happening this weekend. Details here.

Tomorrow: 🎸 Alt-Rock Festival at Old Canberra Inn

This Saturday, there is an Alt-Rock Festival happening at Old Canberra Inn. The lineup includes a number of exciting east-coast Alternative Bands and Artists. Details here.

This Weekend: 🏏 T20 International: Australia v South Africa

In a rematch of the 2023 Women’s T20 World Cup Final, Australia will take on South Africa at Manuka Oval. There are two games: Saturday 27th and Sunday 28th. Gates open at 9:45am, and the first ball is at 10:45am. Tickets here.

Social League is a combination of slow-pitch baseball and softball. It’s a relaxed, pressure-free environment in which to make new friends, catch up with mates, or hang out with work colleagues. Social League is designed for adults of all ages and all skill levels. The summer league is starting soon, in early February.
