News: 🔋 Tesla is now the Second Most Popular Car Brand in Canberra
According to the 2023 Federal Chamber of Automotive Industries sales stats, Tesla is now the second most popular car brand in Canberra, behind Toyota and ahead of Mazda. 3,396 electric vehicles were sold in Canberra during 2023, doubling the number on ACT roads. The ACT has the highest rate of EV ownership per capita in Australia.

On This Day in Canberra: Assassination of Colin Winchester
On this day in 1989, assistant commissioner of the Australian Federal Police, Colin Winchester, was assassinated by an unknown perpetrator outside his home in Deakin. Winchester is Australia’s most senior police officer to have been murdered. Former Public Servant David Eastman was initially convicted of his murder but, after a re-trial, was found not guilty.
