Did you know Canberra has a tool and equipment library? Community Toolbox Canberra has 890 tools for making, fixing and creating. For a small annual fee, members can borrow a wide range of tools and equipment for activities such as DIY, craft, cooking and home projects. There are regular events, including repair days and mending circles. Find out more.
New Eats: 🍔 Wonderburger
A new burger joint has opened in Kingston. Wonderburger serves up burgers, hotdogs, shakes and fried chicken with a side of nostalgia. The retro-themed burger restaurant is open daily from 11am to 9pm in Green Square Kingston. Details here.
This Week: 👩👧 Little Explorers Days at Questacon
Running this Wednesday to Friday at Questacon will be the Little Explorers’ Days. It’s a chance for children aged 0 to 6 years old and their carers to explore Questacon without the big kids and school groups. There will also be ocean-themed puppet shows, block play, an interactive butterfly adventure and more. Details here.
Sport: ⚽️ Canberra United Beat Melbourne City
Canberra United produced a major upset by beating top-of-the-table Melbourne City 3-1 in the A-league. Canberra had lost their previous two matches and were winless in their four previous games against City. Match report.
This Weekend: 🐲 Lunar New Year
The Lunar New Year is being celebrated in Dickson this Saturday. Events on Woolley Street will begin at 11am and run until 11pm. There will be dance and music performances, roving kung fu, Lion Dancing, and many food and drink options.
2024 will be the Year of the Dragon. The dragon symbolises power, nobility, luck and success. Being born in the year of the dragon is considered auspicious in Chinese astrology. Previous years of the dragon are 2012, 2000, 1988, 1976, 1964 and 1952.
