Today is World Wetlands Day. 40% of all plant and animal species live or breed in wetlands, yet they only cover around 6 per cent of the Earth's land surface.
In the ACT, we're lucky to have several wetland areas, including Jerrabomberra Wetlands. It's one of the ACT's most significant wetland habitats. It is an important sanctuary for local birds as well as birds migrating from the northern hemisphere and from inland Australia.
Did you know the Jerrabomberra Wetlands has an app! It will guide you on a tour of the nature reserve and includes audio story-telling and visual map cues. Details here.
If you're planning to go out for a meal this Valentine's Day (Wed 14th February), I've put together a list of restaurants that are doing special menus. Details here.
Canberra United are taking on top of the table Melbourne City FC in the A-League. Kick-off at McKellar Park is at 5pm. Kids under 12 are free for general admission. Tickets here.
Blank is a play with gaps in the script. The audience is in charge of how the story will unfold. Your experience will be determined by the imagination of others. The play is starting tomorrow and will run weekly throughout February at the Mill Theatre. Details here.
