For the 2024 year of the Dragon, a new wooden sculpture has been installed in Dickson to replace the origami Rabbit.
The Dragon sculpture was designed and made by Hiroshi Yamaguchi from the Koitoya studio in Canberra. Hiroshi spent 17 years teaching woodworking in Japan before moving to Canberra in 2012 with his family.
Koitoya specialises in wooden crafts, furniture and architectural installations. The studio also runs woodwork courses based on traditional Japanese skills and design philosophy. Details here.
This weekend, there will be free public transport in Canberra as part of the National Multicultural Festival. Travel will be free across the light rail and buses between 4:30pm this Friday until the last service on Sunday night.

The ACT Government is looking to gather ideas from the community on what the future of the City Hill Park should look like. You can draw or describe your ideas or just complete a quick 3-minute survey. From the 9-25 March, Civic Library will be hosting an exhibition showcasing ideas, and on the 11th of March, you can join tours to learn more about the design and history of the site. Details here.
